I am trying to formulate my latest thesis and blogs are a good way for me to journal the evolution of my thoughts into an exciting premise for a thesis. Ahem.
Digital distribution of music is the future of the music industry. The days of the brick and mortal CD retail stores are rapidly changing as consumers are able to download music via the internet. Music like water, flowing freely to the consumer. Techonology is progressing at an exciting pace. The iPhone is a prelude to what, in the future, everyone will carry a Universal Media Device (UMD) which will act as their phone, music player, and any other media of which you can think. People will pay alot of money for the UMD hardware, but 20 times as much money for the information they store therein. The UMD will make downloading music via the web instantaneous and very, very easy. Music billing will be a part of the consumer's "media bundle" utility bill and people won't pay per download of a song or per listen per se. Consumers will pay a flat fee included in their media utility bill to have access to music at all times. Like water in a home. Music like water.
